Zircon Adds Pro Version of Award-Winning CF 12 Circuit Breaker Finder
CAMPBELL, Calif. July 14, 2003 – Zircon announces the new CF 12 Pro circuit breaker finder, which provides the ultimate flexibility for one-person matching of circuits and breakers, an essential element of any electrical installation or repair.
The pro version brings additional flexibility to the original CF 12. First introduced at the 2002 National Hardware Show, the CF 12 has received multiple awards and accolades including the Editor's Choice Award from Popular Mechanics, the Retailer's Choice Award from Do-It-Yourself Retailing, and the Showstopper Award from Electrical Contractor at the annual NECA (National Electrical Contractor Association) show.
The CF 12 Pro extends the flexibility of the CF 12 by expanding its working range up to 277 volts and by adding accessories that can connect to any type of finished or unfinished circuit, including electrical leads, bare wire and standard wall sockets. The new version's increased signal power enhances its performance in industrial settings, reducing the possibility of false positives in larger buildings.
Like the original CF 12, the CF 12 Pro eliminates the need to either shut off power to an entire house or floor, or engage in frustrating trial-and-error methods, accidentally shutting off things like computers, appliances and other electronics or machinery that then must be restarted and often reprogrammed. With its expanded capabilities, the CF 12 becomes the perfect companion for electricians, contractors or maintenance personnel working at apartment complexes, office buildings or other commercial and industrial sites.
To use the CF 12 Pro, just connect the transmitter to the circuit in question, and a red LED confirms the circuit is live. The transmitter sends a signal down the wire to the breaker box. At the breaker box, scan the panel twice with the receiver wand. The first scan automatically calibrates the CF 12. On the second scan, when the correct breaker is found, users will hear an audio signal and see a single green LED light on the wand.
Featuring new, patent-pending technology, the CF 12 products are more reliable and easier to use than anything else in the marketplace. With both products there are no intricate adjustments required or confusing displays to interpret, which can result in incorrect readings. Unlike similar products on the market, the CF 12 and CF 12 Pro will never signal a false positive if a circuit is not connected to a particular breaker box.
The CF 12 Pro and its accessories come in a lightweight, jobsite-tough case that protects the tool and eliminates the potential for lost parts. The receiver is powered by one 9-volt battery and is equipped with a handy belt-clip.
"The CF 12 Pro is another example of Zircon's commitment to simplifying important tasks with one-person, one-touch solutions that eliminate frustration and costly guesswork," stated President Charles Stauss. "With no confusing meters to decipher, the audio signal and LED indicator leave absolutely no doubt when the circuit is matched with the correct breaker, ensuring accuracy and safety, the top-of-mind concern in any electrical job."
Zircon's CF 12 Pro has a suggested retail price of $119.95. The CF 12, which works only on standard 110-volt current and plugs into standard wall sockets, remains available at $49.95. Both are backed by a one-year limited warranty. CF 12 is available now at leading home centers, hardware stores and professional outlets. You can also call 1-800-245-9265 or visit www.zircon.com to find a store near you. The CF 12 Pro will be shown at this year's National Hardware Show and is scheduled to ship in September.
